March 2017

The 2017 theme for National Women’s History Month honors women who have successfully challenged the role of women in both business and the paid labor force.  Women have always worked, but often their work has been undervalued and unpaid.   Women's History Week began under
Jimmy Carter's leadership and later was expanded to the entire month.

Quotes by Famous Women

Do not bring people in your life who weigh you down. And trust your instincts … good relationships feel good. They feel right. They don’t hurt. They’re not painful. That’s not just with somebody you want to marry, but it’s with the friends that you choose. It’s with the people you surround yourselves with.
Michelle Obama

Take criticism seriously, but not personally. If there is truth or merit in the criticism, try to learn from it. Otherwise, let it roll right off you. — Hillary Clinton

I have come to realize making yourself happy is most important. Never be ashamed of how you feel. You have the right to feel any emotion you want, and do what makes you happy. That’s my life motto.

 — Demi Lovato

Don’t compromise yourself. You are all you’ve got. There is no yesterday, no tomorrow, it’s all the same day. –Janis Joplin

In politics, if you want anything said, ask a man; if you want anything done, ask a woman.

 — Margaret Thatcher

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back. — Maya Angelou

Everyone has inside of her a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be, how much you can love, what you can accomplish, and what your potential is. — Anne Frank
