Dee was an American actress, poet, playwright, screenwriter, journalist
and activist. She was born October 27, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio and died June 11, 2014 in New Rochelle, N.Y. She is perhaps best known for co-starring in the films A
Raisin in the Sun, Do the Right Thing, and American Gangster.
