Welcome Mr. Kaanan Lewis to the Benedict family! Mr. Lewis is a native of Mullins, S.C. He graduated from Mullins High School and received his BS degree from Francis Marion University. Mr. Lewis is currently enrolled in the University of South Carolina's MLIS (Master of Library Information Science) program. Upon the completion of that degree, he hopes to obtain a certificate from a Culinary Arts School. He enjoys swimming and traveling. Mr. Lewis states that "he is so grateful to be a part of the Benedict family." He plans to work diligently to meet the needs of the students, faculty and staff. Mr. Lewis will be working in the Library's Electronic Reference Center (ERC).
Welcome Ms. Louise Smith to the Benedict Family! Ms. Smith is a native of Columbia, SC. She is a graduate of Benedict College and received her Masters Degree + 30 from the University of South Carolina. She has worked as a librarian in the Georgia School District, Fairfield County Schools, Newberry County Schools, etc. and most recently in the Richland One School District. Ms. Smith's hobbies are reading, sewing and traveling. Ms. Smith will work on the first floor in the Library Media Center Room 104. She will be incorporating the use of technology into student projects and assignments.

Prezi is a presentation
software that zooms in a featured elements. The creator can create a
collage of sorts with images, text, and videos. Then, the creator can
create a path from the various elements, creating a story or
presentation for the viewer. There are several advantages for using
Prezi. It is free and easy to use. You do not have to download anything
to use it, and you can easily show how concepts or ideas are related to each
